Senior Parent Night-September 18, 2007 at 6 pm

Josten's Senior Packet Distribution-September 21, 2007 at 9am

Josten's orders are placed-9/26/07 at 8:30am

Proposed Interim Distribution-9/27/07

Begin visiting colleges of interest

Register for ACT/SAT exams as needed.

Complete Senior Credit Check

Sign for diploma

October

College Day (TBA)

P/T Conferences 10/19 from 8am-10am

10/30/07 end of first nine weeks

Senior should apply to colleges of choice.

Continue visiting college of interest

Start working on activity sheets, personal statement, and letters of recommendation.

Register for ACT/SAT exams as needed.

D&E college visits PHS on 10/12 at 10am.

Pick up scholarship packet

November

Seniors should have college applications submitted by Thanksgiving Break.

ACT/SAT exam registration if needed.

ASVAB given to interested seniors (11/8/07)

Continue to visit college campuses of interest

Inquire about housing on various campuses.

Inquire about financial aid available through prospective colleges.

Registration for second semester college courses.

Pick up scholarship packet.

December

Students should be receiving letters of acceptance/denial.

Once a college is selected, check into housing and financial aid.

Proposed Interims-12/7/07

Pictures due for slideshow (submit to Ms. Propst)

Student Financial Aid Meeting (TBA) for seniors only.

Parent Financial Aid Meeting (TBA) for parents.  This covers the FAFSA form.

Activity sheets, recommendations, and personal statements should be submitted to Mrs. Nesselrodt.

Pick up Scholarship packet.

Complete WV Promise Application (if eligible).

Complete WV Higher Education Grant Application.

Student and parent must apply for PIN number if filing the FAFSA online.

January

Students should be finalizing college plans (including housing).

January 18, 2008-End of 1st semester

Review all of the activities listed above.  If any were not completed, please do so IMMEDIATELY.

Finalize any letters of recommendation that are needed.

Start working on the FAFSA.

Pick up scholarship packet.

February

Pick up scholarship packet

FAFSA form must be mailed by February 14th, 2008.  If filing online, it must be completed (with time to process) by March 1, 2008.  It typically takes a few weeks to process.

Parent/Teacher Conferences-2/14/08 3:30-6:30

Confirm housing plans for college.

March

Deadline for FAFSA is March 1,2008.

Pick up scholarship packet.

March 27, 2008-end of third nine weeks.

April

Pick up local scholarship packet on April 1, 2008.

Proposed Report Card Distribution on April 3

all local scholarship applications must include transcript, personal statement, activity sheet, and letters of recommendation.  Neatness does count! NO late applications will be accepted.

May

May 2- All local applications must be postmarked by today.

May 5-proposed interims distributed.

Senior Exams (TBA) Tentatively May 15-16.

Students that have taken college credited courses should complete a transcript request form for each college in which you were enrolled.

May 21-Senior Breakfast (parents invited) 8am.

May 21-Senior award following breakfast (open to public)

May 21-Baccalaureate 7pm-reception following

May 22-Senior Picnic-Welton Park at noon.

May23-Graduation 7pm.
